Testwell CTC++: 25 years success in Code Coverage
Testwell CTC++, the leading Code Coverage Analyser for On-Target
Testing celebrates 25 years of successful use in the software
The reasons for this success are the tools ability to analyse
all coverage levels, to work with all compilers, and operate on the
smallest embedded targets and microcontrollers.
The first version of the Testwell CTC++ was internally developed in
1989 by the NOKIA group. The tool was then taken over in 1992 by
the newly founded company Testwell Oy (Finland).
Since that time Testwell has done a great job of constantly
improving Testwell CTC++, chiefly through the effort of Mr. Olavi
Poutanen, CEO and founder of Testwell Oy. Olavi has over 40 years
of experience in development and systems software design. During
that time, Olavi conducted many fruitful technical discussions with
his customers which helped understanding the real user needs and
led to enhancements such as integrations with new IDEs and compiler
Latterly, extensions of Testwell CTC++ for Java, Android, C# and
for measuring test coverage in smallest targets (bitcov add-on)
have been implemented by the development team headed by Roland Baer
of Verifysoft Technology GmbH (Germany).
Since 2003, Verifysoft has delivered continuous success in
marketing the Testwell tools in German speaking countries, France
and the Benelux as distributor.
In the summer of 2013 Verifysoft Technology purchased the
intellectual property rights of the Testwell tools.
Since then, a Qualification Kit for Testwell CTC++ has been
developed which provides documentation, test cases and procedures
that qualifies the Testwell CTC++ Test Coverage Analyser for
projects based on the safety standards ISO 26262, IEC 61508,
EN-50128, and DO-178C.
Today hundreds of global corporations, mid-sized players and
smaller companies (among them many with "critical" development in
aeronautics, transportation and medical sectors) are using Testwell
CTC++ to increase productivity and the quality of their software.
Customers include ABB, Airbus, Alcatel-Lucent, Areva, Audi, BMW,
Bombardier, Bosch, Canon, Continental, Daimler, ESA (European Space
Agency), Gemalto, General Electrics, Hitachi, Honeywell, Infineon,
Intel, NXP, Philips, Raytheon, Schneider Electric, Siemens, ST
Microelectronics, T-Mobile, Texas Instruments, Thales, Volkswagen,
Westinghouse, ZF, Zodiac Aerospace.

Verifysoft celebrates the 25 years of Testwell CTC++ on
Thursday 25 September 2014 at Technologiepark in Offenburg.
There will be a couple of presentations including requirements of
security standards, different code coverage levels, presentations
of the coverage tool and the qualification kit.
In the evening we will celebrate the anniversary of
Testwell CTC++ with champagne and a Testwell CTC++
